Brie (she/her) is a mind and body worker with a focus on holistic wellness for historically oppressed demographics, especially the transgender community. Working with Brie takes on a collaborative relational dynamic, defying traditional client-provider interactions. Brie's approach to healing has been described as calming, energetically resonant, and affirming. The type of healing space you will experience with Brie is based on trauma informed practice, intersectional feminism, de-colonizing methodology, and evidence-based interventions. Brie's practice seeks to stay grounded through community organizing involvement as well as her personal lived experiences as a transgender person, (dis)Abled veteran, and second generation Chinese American.
Brie's undergraduate studies at the University of California in Irvine included cognitive neuroscience, health psychology, and traditional Chinese medicine. Her passion for learning has generated over ten years of interdisciplinary research & assessment experience in a variety of fields to include neurobiology, psychiatry, neurocardiology, psychoneuroimmunology, and behavior development. Brie earned her MSW at the University of Washington with a focus on community integrative practice. Her social work involvement ranges from policy design, equity consulting, community organizing, counseling, and dialogue facilitation. Currently, Brie is a PhD student with an interest to study therapeutic touch for trauma recovery.

Counseling is offered as one-on-one services in the form of psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and social work case management. Psychoeducation is an educational approach to exploring tools and strategies for clients to apply in their daily lives. Motivational interviewing is a client-centered counseling style for bringing about behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence. Social work case management assesses the needs of the client and arranges, coordinates, monitors, evaluates, and advocates for multiple services and community resources to meet the client’s needs. Counseling services are offered in 60 minute sessions.
Mindful Awareness in Body Oriented Therapy (MABT) helps people integrate mental and sensory processes, facilitating embodiment through cultivation of inner connection and an expanded sense of self. MABT facilitates self-awareness and emotion regulation, and thus can useful for coping with stressful life events, symptom management, and health promotion.
